Reminders about Reading Log:

  • Every night students will be expected to read 30 minutes minimum, and then complete a short writing reflection after reading.  Students will fill out the Monday-Thursday responses, have parents sign nightly and then turn it in on Fridays.

Reminders about Current Events:

  • Twice a month, students will be asked to complete a Current Events article for Social Studies.  Students will receive the sheet on Monday, and it will be due on Friday of that week.
  • Students will be given a hard copy every other Monday, however, here is an electronic copy. Current Events.pdf

If your child is Absent:

  • Your child is still expected to read for 30 minutes daily, even when absent from school.
  • Students should also complete the Reading Log for that absent day, so that the log will receive full credit if possible.
  • Please note however, that if your child is out for an extended period of time, or does not receive the Reading log hard copy, due to being absent on a Monday, there can be exceptions to this rule and the child can be excused from the completion of the log on a case by case basis.
