Hello Everyone!

We've had another busy week in room 136.  Remember there is no school on Monday, November 12, in observance of Veteran's Day.

In science we have studying plants and the process of photosynthesis. There will be a quiz coming up soon. A period is scheduled to on Monday Nov. 19. E period will have their quiz on Friday, Nov 16. We will be working on study guides and reviewing our notes to get ready.

In SS, we have continued our study of early European Explorers. The Lost Colony of Roanoke has been discussed and we've had some interesting debates about one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in history.

Reading groups have continued with a focus on the origins of Veteran's Day and Non-fiction passages.

Math instruction has focused on mulitplying whole numbers as well as rounding money to the nearest dollar. Students have been very excited to run the Calendar math portion of our math block which includes review on time ,money and number properties.

On Wednesday the 14th we will have Library so please send back those library books.. Students can have up to 3 books at a time.

Finally, on Wednesday the 14th is the Turkey Trot. For $3.00 or 2 canned goods, students can run or walk one mile on the back field to support the Westfield Food Pantry. Please support if you are able. I look forward to seeing many of my students there.

Enjoy the 3 day weekend!
Have a great weekend everyone!
